How we work, in writing.
The working rules behind every quote, said plainly so there are no surprises later.
This site is an introduction, not a contract
Everything here describes what we do and how we cook. Menus, photographs and counter descriptions are indicative of our work, not a fixed offer. Your event is quoted on its own terms.
An enquiry is not a booking
Sending the form starts a conversation. Your date is only held once we have confirmed it with you in writing and agreed the terms of that particular event. Until then the date stays open to others.
One wedding a date
We take one wedding a date so the team that meets you is the team that cooks. If your date is already taken we say so on the first reply rather than stretching the kitchen across two families.
Quotes
We do not publish prices because no two events are the same. Every quote is prepared for your date, venue, guest count and menu, and given to you in writing with what is included. A quote holds for the period stated on it.
What we need from a venue
Live counters need power and access. Requirements are agreed in writing before the event, and for hill venues we visit the site before we confirm. Where a venue cannot meet what the counters need, we say so early rather than on the day.
Changes and cancellations
Guest numbers, menus and timings can move as planning goes on. Tell us as early as you can and we will re work the quote. Cancellation terms are set out in your written quote for that event.
Photographs of your event
We photograph our own counters at work. If you would rather we did not photograph or post anything from your event, say so and we will not. Where a planner books us, we never post without their permission and we tag them when we do.
What is on this site
The words, photographs and artwork here belong to us or are used with permission. Venue names are stated as a record of where we have cooked, not as an endorsement by those venues.
